We went in the cars to the birch aquarium and I rode in Emmet’s car with Benjamin and Izaya 7. We saw a puffer fish. When a puffer fish sees its prey it puffs up its spikes and then the predator swims away because it is surprised! And we saw Dory of course. There’s a sea horse that looks like it has leaves growing out of it, but they’re really not leaves…they’re fins. Extra fins that help it swim. We also saw baby jello fish. We got to touch a star fish – another name for it is a sea star. It felt like a bumpy rock that has suction cups on the bottom of it. When I put my finger on the little tube part of the purple sea urchin, the little spikes grabbed on to me and it was like it was kissing me – but it wasn’t because the mouth is on the bottom. When we touched the hermit crabs, they came out of their shells and they walked on our hands and they jumped off. Because they didn’t want to be in our hands. And we saw these BIG sea snails but when we touched them, their bodies went inside their shells again. And, oh, this is really scary! We saw a shark. A great white shark that was cleaning its own tank by licking it! We saw an octopus. It was squished up in a corner. We saw baby lion fish. You know they were babies because they were SO small, like a baby. We saw a great spotted shark. It was wandering around looking for food. Then we saw it eating a fish. A dead one.
My feet hurted and so I had to get in the high chair and they put bandaids on my foot. In the car, I was playing a game that if the boys put their feet near me…I would grab them. They weren’t trying to keep their feet away though, they were trying to make me catch them! I grabbed Emmet’s the most!
